Super excited to help kick off the next season of the Hello Atelier! podcast. Wonderful podcasters Betsy Blodgett and Jonathan Goetz interviewed me at my Lawrence, KS home and we had a lovely chat about books, writing, and more! You can listen to it here.
Much thanks to Naima Tokunow and Puerto del Sol for publishing my very short essay "From Where Do You Speak?" as part of their Black Voices Series. A mini-interview follows the essay. It deals indirectly with imposter syndrome, which is one of the most challenging aspects about academia. Thankful to BVS for giving space to this and so much amazing writing by black-identified writers, including these pieces by I.S. Jones and Simone Savannah <3
KC Studio magazine is a great source for arts and culture in the Kansas City area. I recently spoke with Kathie Kerr to talk about my new chapbook, In the Garden of Broken Things, for their "KC Honors" column. Read the interview here. Thanks to Jim Barcus who took the photos for the issue and Kathie Kerr for such great interview questions!
